OVERVIEW

Whitebird was seeking a new website design for their new division of their company, Moyy, in efforts to better promote their products and differentiate themselves from their competitors by emphasizing their commitment to sustainability. I was involved as the lead designer to develop the wireframes and the design of the homepage, portfolio page, product page and industry page—with a goal of attracting new customers (i.e. small business owners) by building online visibility and brand awareness. I also provided art direction for their spring and fall product photoshoot, to be utilized in the second phase of their website development and paid media materials.

PROBLEM

The main concerns that small business owners face in the packaging industry are sustainability concerns and increased competition. Therefore, prioritizing eco-friendly practices and providing specialized design/printing/manufacturing services are crucial to highlight.

DESIGN PROCESS:
COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

Our first step was to identify gaps that exist in the current industry by conducting a competitive analysis. Through these insights, we gathered and categorized the factors/elements to help us optimize the layout and functionality of the new website.

DESIGN PROCESS:
LOW FIDELITY WIREFRAMES

Once we gathered all insights from the competitive analysis, we developed a plan for the information architecture and page structure of the website, featuring a modular approach with elements organized as blocks.

Through this process, I moved into creating the wireframes with all necessary functionalities to ensure the user journey was intuitive and aligned with the brand’s objectives.

DESIGN PROCESS:
HIGH-FIDELITY DESIGNS

Once we settled on the layouts and user flows, I began developing the high-fidelity designs, typefaces, and iconography. Through this, we were able to enhance the visibility of the brand to ensure new users can quickly grasp all available services and products which in turn, encourages higher engagement.

Specifically, this first phase of the website development focused on two core elements to boost awareness and reinforce the brand’s commitment to sustainability:

1) Every product showcasing materials

2) Building awareness and highlighting company’s extensive services beyond product offers

3) Provide a seamless onboarding experience to guide customer to desired solutions for their packaging needs
